From the boardwalk to the farm roads
The lower Shore covers a wide range of homes. Ocean City has condos and beach houses with a patio or deck, Berlin and Snow Hill have older homes with original fireplaces, and around Salisbury you see newer subdivisions alongside farmhouses. We deliver four pallets free across the area:
- 15 Mega Bag pallet, $599.90: 15 sealed Mega Bags, the easiest fit for a condo storage closet or a beach house garage.
- 30 Mega Bag pallet, $899.90: 30 Mega Bags on one pallet, the best price per bag.
- 1/4 cord pallet, $499: 32 cu ft of 16 inch splits for a fireplace and fire pit.
- 1/2 cord pallet, $799: 64 cu ft for a wood stove or a fireplace you use every evening.
Keeping wood dry near the coast
Between the bays, the marshes and the ocean, the air on the lower Shore holds a lot of moisture. Wood left out in a pile picks it up quickly. Our hardwood (oak, hickory, maple, cherry, birch and walnut) is kiln-dried to under 15% moisture, and a sealed Mega Bag keeps it at that level until the day you open it. All of it is heat-treated to the USDA standard of 160 F at the core for 75 minutes, so it is free of bugs and legal to move across state lines.
Picking the right amount
For a beach house used in spring and fall, or a fire pit a few nights a month, a 15 Mega Bag pallet is usually plenty. Year-round homes in Salisbury or out in the county that heat with a stove will want the 1/2 cord. The cord of firewood guide breaks down how each size compares. If you are planning a fire on the beach or in a rental, check the local rules first.
