Why Princeton buys kiln-dried hardwood
Princeton has one of the highest concentrations of detached estate housing with working fireplaces in central New Jersey. Median household income runs above $160k. Add the pizza-and-wood-fired restaurant density along Witherspoon (Italian-American mainstays, modern Neapolitan-style wood ovens), the Princeton University FitzRandolph Gate corridor, and the wealthy farms in Princeton Township and Hopewell, and you get a market that wants premium kiln-dried hardwood, not "seasoned" cordwood from a local guy with a pickup truck.
Princeton is in the New Jersey spotted lanternfly (SLF) quarantine zone (Mercer County is one of 21 affected NJ counties as of 2026). Moving untreated firewood across SLF county lines violates NJ Department of Agriculture rules. Our USDA APHIS-certified hardwood ships with the phytosanitary certificate that makes inter-county and inter-state transport legal.

Pallet firewood in Princeton: what actually arrives
Princeton searches for firewood by the pallet more than any other Mercer County town, so here is exactly what our pallet program looks like on a Princeton driveway. Every pallet is shrink-wrapped at the Levittown kiln and carefully unloaded in your driveway, depending on site accessibility, by a truck with its own lift gate; no forklift, no help needed on your side.
- Palletized 1/4 cord, $499: a measured 32 cu ft of 16 inch splits, the weekend-fire season size
- Palletized 1/2 cord, $799: 64 cu ft, the every-evening fireplace and stove size
- Half pallet of 15 Mega Bags, $599.90: same wood, packaged, move it bag by bag, includes 1 free Premium Box
- Full pallet of 30 Mega Bags, $899.90: the biggest packaged option, includes 2 free Boxes
The loose-stacked cords suit households with a wood rack ready; the bagged pallets suit garages and patios where you want the stack contained. Both arrive in 5 to 10 days, and delivery is included in the price.
