Understanding Firewood Measurements

A cord is the standard measurement for firewood. A full cord is a stack measuring 4 feet wide × 4 feet tall × 8 feet long — that's 128 cubic feet of wood. It's a lot of firewood.

A face cord (or "rick") is typically one-third of a full cord: 4 feet tall × 8 feet long × 16 inches deep.

By Use Case: How Much Do You Need?

Fireplace — Occasional Use (1-2 Fires Per Week)
