Wood heat country

Outside the towns, a lot of Panhandle homes use a wood stove or insert as a main or backup heat source, and mountain cabins rely on one. That makes the bigger pallets the usual order here:

• 1/2 cord pallet, $799 (regularly $940): 64 cu ft, about 2,000 lb, for a stove in daily use.
• 1/4 cord pallet, $499 (regularly $555): 32 cu ft for fireplaces, weekend cabins and shoulder-season fires.
• 30 Mega Bag pallet, $899.90: 30 sealed Mega Bags plus 2 free Boxes. Easy to keep dry in a cabin without a woodshed.
• 15 Mega Bag pallet, $599.90: 15 Mega Bags plus 1 free Box for fire pits and rentals.

Why kiln-dried if you can cut your own

Plenty of people here split their own wood, and kiln-dried is not meant to replace that. It fills the gaps: when your own stack is still green in October, when you are renting out a cabin and guests need wood that lights on the first try, or when you need a dry reserve for a cold snap. Our splits are under 15% moisture and heat-treated to the USDA standard of 160 F at the core for 75 minutes, so they bring no pests onto your property.

Cabin rentals and getaways

Berkeley Springs, Capon Bridge and the Lost River and Seneca Rocks areas are full of weekend rentals with fireplaces and fire pits. A Mega Bag pallet keeps a rental stocked for months with clean, sealed bags that guests can carry themselves.
