Firewood Delivery in Essex County, NJ (Short Hills to Montclair)

Essex County was largely built when a fireplace was the heating system, and those old flues are unforgiving about wet wood. A Montclair Victorian, a Glen Ridge colonial under the gas lamps, a Short Hills house with three working hearths: every one of them was designed around dry hardwood and none of them tolerate the 25 to 35 percent moisture that passes for seasoned at a roadside yard. How the freight actually reaches your street

Essex is the tightest suburban geography we deliver cords into. Trucks arrive on the Garden State Parkway and I-280 and work outward on Bloomfield Avenue, Springfield Avenue, and Northfield Road. The last hundred feet are the part worth planning. An LTL trailer needs a street it can stop on and a spot the driver can reach with a pallet jack, which is easy in Livingston or Essex Fells and genuinely tight on a Montclair side street with parking on both sides. FAQ

Will a pallet fit on my street?
Almost always, but it depends on the drop point rather than the street. The driver needs somewhere to set the pallet down off the travel lane. If your block has no driveway apron and parking on both sides, order Mega Bags on free UPS Ground instead and skip the coordination.

Why does moisture matter more in an old fireplace?
An unlined or original masonry flue runs cooler than a modern insert, so unburned moisture and smoke condense on the walls as creosote. Wood under 15 percent burns hot and clean, which is the difference between a pleasant evening and a chimney sweep conversation.
