Kiln-dried vs seasoned, what's the actual difference?
Seasoned firewood is air-dried for 6-12 months and usually tests 20-25% moisture, that is wet enough to smoke, hiss, and lose 30% of its heat output. We kiln-dry every piece to under 15% moisture in 24-48 hours. Lights with one match. Burns hotter. Stores indefinitely without re-soaking.
