New Jersey is one of our two highest-volume states, second only to New York, and almost the entire state sits inside our Local Delivery Zone. Our Levittown, PA distribution facility is roughly 5 miles from the NJ state line; Trenton is 8 miles, Princeton is 23 miles, Edison is 50 miles, Newark is 75 miles. Pallet and cord deliveries cover all of South and Central Jersey, most of North Jersey, and the entire Jersey Shore. Packaged Mega Bags and Boxes ship free UPS Ground to every NJ ZIP from 070 to 089.

Who buys kiln-dried firewood in New Jersey

New Jersey firewood demand is the most diverse of any state we serve. Five distinct customer profiles repeat. First, the suburban primary-residence fireplace and stove-insert account, concentrated in Bergen (Ridgewood 07450, Wyckoff 07481, Saddle River 07458), Morris (Morristown 07960, Madison 07940, Chatham 07928, Mendham 07945), Somerset (Bernardsville 07924, Far Hills 07931, Bedminster 07921), and Hunterdon (Flemington 08822, Tewksbury 08833). Second, the Jersey Shore second-home and rental-property market (Avalon 08202, Stone Harbor 08247, LBI 08008, Lavallette 08735, Mantoloking 08738). Third, the urban high-rise rooftop and condo deck market in Jersey City 07302, Hoboken 07030, and the Newark-Harrison waterfront. Fourth, the wood-fired restaurant and pizza scene, especially the Asbury Park 07712 and Red Bank 07701 corridors plus Hoboken and Jersey City. Fifth, the rural Sussex and Warren county primary-heat households (Sparta 07871, Andover 07821, Hackettstown 07840, Belvidere 07823) that use wood as real winter heat.

Kiln-dried matters in NJ more than in almost any other state we serve because the state is wall-to-wall inside the active spotted lanternfly quarantine. The NJ Department of Agriculture's lanternfly quarantine covers Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Salem, Warren, Sussex, Somerset, Morris, Monmouth, Middlesex, Union, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, Ocean, Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties (effectively the entire state) as of latest USDA APHIS mapping. Emerald ash borer is confirmed in every NJ county. Untreated firewood moved into or across NJ is a violation. Our heat-treated wood, certified to USDA APHIS phytosanitary spec, is the legal way to deliver firewood anywhere in New Jersey.

Logistics for New Jersey

Almost the entire state is inside our Local Delivery Zone. Cherry Hill (08002, 08003) is 30 miles from our distribution facility, Princeton is 23, Edison is 50, Newark is 75, Jersey City is 80, the Asbury Park / Long Branch shore corridor is 65 to 80, LBI is 70 to 90, and the Cape May peninsula is 100 to 120 miles. The only NJ ZIPs that fall outside our pallet zone are the far northwest corner of Sussex County (Sussex 07461, Montague 07827, High Point 07827) and the absolute tip of Cape May. Everything else is eligible for palletized 1/4 cord, 1/2 cord, full cord, or bulk Mega Bag pallet delivery, typically 1 business day from order with lift-gate curbside drop.

For packaged orders or for NJ addresses where freight access isn't practical (high-rise condos, walk-up apartments, gated communities), we ship 1.75 cu ft Mega Bags and 1.33 cu ft Boxes on free UPS Ground in 1 business day to most of the state. Same-day ship cutoff is noon ET.

New Jersey-specific notes

Quarantine status. NJ is effectively under a statewide spotted lanternfly quarantine. The NJ Department of Agriculture and USDA APHIS jointly enforce. Untreated firewood, including local cutter material, cannot be moved across NJ county lines inside the quarantine. Every NJ county has emerald ash borer confirmed. Our USDA-certified kiln-dried firewood is heat-treated to 160°F core for 75 minutes and ships with phytosanitary documentation on request.

Where New Jersey demand clusters. The Bergen-Morris-Somerset suburban triangle drives a third of our state pallet volume, with most orders concentrated in Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Saddle River, Mendham, Bernardsville, and Far Hills. The Jersey Shore second-home market peaks twice a year: late fall preseason and early spring for the bonfire and shoulder-season fire-pit crowd. The Hudson waterfront (Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken) buys packaged Boxes year-round for rooftop fire features. The wood-fired restaurant accounts in Asbury Park, Red Bank, and Hoboken are recurring bulk pallet customers. Sussex and Warren primary-heat households are seasonal cordwood pallet customers, typically ordering 2 to 3 pallets across the fall.

Heating context. Newark averages around 4,800 heating degree days per year, Sussex County over 5,500. Suburban fireplace households burn 1 to 2 cords per winter. Stove-insert households burn 3 to 4. Sussex / Warren primary-heat homes burn 4 to 6. Jersey Shore fire-pit accounts move closer to 0.5 cord across the year. Hudson waterfront rooftop fire-pit accounts buy 6 to 12 Mega Bags per season.

Recommendations for New Jersey customers

For Bergen, Morris, Somerset, and Hunterdon County suburban fireplace customers, the 30-Mega-Bag pallet (~1/2 cord) is the highest-value pick, followed by the palletized 1/2 cord and 1/4 cord. For Jersey Shore second-home and rental accounts, order the 15 Mega Bag bulk pallet (~1/4 cord) at the start of summer, or single Mega Bags as needed. For Hudson waterfront condos and rooftops, the smaller 1.33 cu ft Box format is easier to ride up in an elevator. For Sussex / Warren primary-heat households, multiple 1/2 cord pallets spaced across October and November. See city coverage at Newark, Jersey City, Cranbury, Princeton, Bound Brook, Denville, and Short Hills.

FAQ

Is it legal to bring firewood into New Jersey?
Only if it is USDA APHIS heat-treated. NJ is effectively under a statewide spotted lanternfly quarantine and EAB is confirmed in every county. Untreated firewood moved into or across NJ violates the quarantine. Our wood is heat-treated to 160°F core and ships with phyto documentation.

Can I get a pallet anywhere in NJ?
Almost everywhere. Most of the state sits inside our Local Delivery Zone. The exceptions are far northwest Sussex County and the southern tip of Cape May County. For those addresses we ship packaged Mega Bags via UPS Ground.

How fast is delivery in New Jersey?
Pallets to most NJ addresses arrive 1 business day after order, with lift-gate curbside drop. Packaged Mega Bags via UPS Ground arrive 1 business day from PA. Same-day ship cutoff is noon ET.

How much firewood for a NJ winter?
Suburban fireplace users burn 1 to 2 cords. Stove-insert households burn 3 to 4. Sussex County primary-heat homes burn 4 to 6 cords. Jersey Shore fire-pit users move closer to 0.5 cord across a year. A Mega Bag is about 1/73 of a cord (15 Mega Bags ≈ 1/4 cord, 30 Mega Bags pallet ≈ 1/2 cord).

Do you deliver to the Jersey Shore and LBI?
Yes. Asbury Park, Long Branch, Belmar, Avon, Manasquan, Mantoloking, LBI, Avalon, Stone Harbor, and Cape May all qualify for either pallet (most of the corridor) or packaged Mega Bag (the southern Cape May tip) delivery. Most addresses are inside the local pallet zone.

The kiln-dried difference

Moisture content is the whole game

Wet wood means smoke, creosote in your chimney, and roughly 30% less heat per log. We kiln-dry every piece to under 15% moisture so it lights with one match and burns clean. Order before noon ET and we ship the same day.
